You’ll discover their hidden stories\, from raising chicks to co-existing with humans\, and the impressive journeys they make to the coast each day for food. \n\n\n\nAfterwards\, take a seat in the beautiful St Mary’s Heritage Centre to relax with an exclusive talk by local ornithologist Daniel Turner\, to hear fascinating insights into the ecology\, history and lives of the Tyne Kittiwakes. From there you will be guided along the quayside\, where Wild Intrigue will share the fascinating story of the Tyne Kittiwakes. With a picture-perfect\, world-famous backdrop of the Tyne\, you will have the opportunity to observe these true Geordie birds up close. \n\n\n\nAfterwards\, local ornithologist Dan Turner from the Tyne Kittiwake Partnership will share the intriguing ecology of the lives of the Tyne Kittiwakes in a fascinating illustrated talk. Situated in a quiet corner of the Lake District within the mossy woodlands of RSPB Haweswater\, the hide is the perfect\, secluded base to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. \n\n\n\nRSPB Haweswater is not only beautiful\, it is an inspiring demonstration of how nature and people can thrive together in the Lake District National Park. Through practical regeneration work\, special habitats and wildlife are being reconnected\, enhanced and conserved. DESCRIPTION:Rewild your week on a Wild Intrigue Bats & Pizza Night\, hosted at the tranquil\, rural glamping site Wild Northumbrian. This beautiful spot is set in the heart of Northumberland National Park\, on the edge of Kielder Forest\, beneath the enchanting celestial blanket of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. \n\n\n\nUpon arriving at the private Swallow Hut you will be greeted by Wild Intrigue\, who will escort you to your al fresco dining table for the evening. Don’t let anyone tell you that nights in nature can’t be a tad fancy. Once you’ve grabbed your first bottomless hot or cold drink of the night\, the fun begins as Wild Intrigue guide you into making your own stone-baked pizza\, with delicious pre-made dough. Which toppings will you choose? \n\n\n\nPlates emptied\, you will embark on a guided exploration of the crepuscular wildlife on site emerging with the setting sun. Perhaps you’ll hear Tawny Owls calling\, Roe Deer barking\, or the Blackbird’s bedtime melody. \n\n\n\nA cosy campfire will be waiting at the Swallow Hut ready to toast marshmallows\, with a hot chocolate of course. As the sun dips\, you will set off on a Bat Safari to track down bats emerging from their roosts on the hunt for breakfast. You will be handed a bat detector to help you track down these elusive creatures of the night\, picking up their echolocation on route. Moths have an important role in our ecosystems and are an indicator of changes in the climate and habitats. Situated in a quiet corner of the Lake District within the mossy woodlands of RSPB Haweswater\, the hide is the perfect\, secluded base to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. \n\n\n\nRSPB Haweswater is not only beautiful\, it is an inspiring demonstration of how nature and people can thrive together in the Lake District National Park. Through practical regeneration work\, special habitats and wildlife are being reconnected\, enhanced and conserved. The woodlands are alive with an impressive diversity of species\, many of which visit the hide. Your booking will contribute to the continued conservation and enhancement of these important habitats\, and the wildlife they support. \n\n\n\nDeveloped and constructed from a photographic perspective\, the hide looks out onto a beautiful woodland scene\, with natural perches and a well established feeding station. Two-way mirror windows\, photography ports and gimbal heads give you the best chance of capturing those perfect images\, whilst luxury seats and complimentary refreshments make you feel right at home. \n\n\n\nA variety of the highest quality seeds and nuts are always topped up in the feeding station\, providing a balanced diet for wild visitors and supporting local businesses. DESCRIPTION:Discover one of Kielder’s most enigmatic summer visitors\, on an exclusive Osprey Watching Cruise.  \n\n\n\nGuided by expert naturalists\, Wild Intrigue\, you’ll head out onto Kielder Water in search of Ospreys\, which return from Africa to nest here each year. \n\n\n\nYou will have the opportunity to enjoy a short talk\, diving into the fascinating history\, ecology and local conservation of the Osprey\, as we set sail on Kielder Waterside’s comfortable boat\, the “Osprey”.  \n\n\n\nIn 2021\, Kielder Water was home to an impressive seven pairs of Ospreys!
