Big Birdwatch in Ouseburn Woods
January 24 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Curious about Ouseburn’s birds? Join us for a hour of birdwatching in Ouseburn Woods, to celebrate the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch weekend!
On the day we’ll listen to bird songs and calls, along with watching them, and you’ll hear some tips on identifying species with these unique features. From the leaf-litter rustling of Thrushes, to the wing-whistling of Woodpigeons and the jam-packed, 80-note song of the Wren.
At this time of year we’re welcoming a lot of birds on passage back to their breeding grounds – such as the beautiful Redwing – and hearing a distinctive change to the soundscape of Ouseburn Woods as the birds begin their courtship rituals.
We’ll have a few pairs of binoculars to borrow, bring some along if you have your own pair! Part of Wild Ouseburn, all species will be recorded.
📍 WHERE TO MEET
No need to book, meet outside the front entrance of Ouseburn Farm on Saturday 24th January, for a 2pm start. What3Words: ///origin.rivers.guides
Please note that we’ll be walking through Ouseburn Woods which includes some steps. All ages welcome.
