NEW wildlife experiences in Northumberland


From wildlife photography workshops to a new acoustic safari, and heaps for families to enjoy, we’re excited to share our new collection of wildlife experiences in Northumberland with you!

We’re looking forward to working with a brand new estate too, National Trust Wallington, as well as bringing some new experiences back to Walltown Quarry Country Park – explore the collections below.

National Trust Wallington

We’re delighted to have been invited by the National Trust Wallington estate, near Morpeth, to host a collection of new wildlife experiences. As an extra treat, the National Trust have kindly offered ticket holders to these events complimentary day access to NT Wallington! 

Wallington Wildlife Safari

Discover the wild side of Wallington on a guided walking safari of Rothley Woods and Lake, a secluded corner of NT Wallington booming with wild birds, mammals, plants and other wildlife to encounter.

Kids Wildlife Photography

Budding young wildlife photographers (suited to ages 7 – 11) are invited to join us for an adventure of nature discovery and photography, to learn top tips in watching wildlife and capturing wild moments!

Introduction to Wildlife Photography

Perfect your wildlife photography skills with award winning photographer, and Co-Director of Wild Intrigue, Cain Scrimgeour. You will be guided in ethical fieldcraft, narrative, composition, exposure and other techniques to capture beautiful imagery at NT Wallington.

Wallington Dawn Chorus Safari

Enjoy the springtime acoustic spectacle of the dawn chorus, and discover more about the local songsters behind the masterpiece. With exclusive early access into NT Wallington, we will have the tranquility of birdsong to ourselves, a beautiful way to welcome in the day.

Walltown Quarry Country Park

This year we’re back with a collection of wildlife experiences for all the family enjoy at Walltown Quarry Country Park, between Brampton and Haltwhistle. These experiences are in partnership with Northumberland National Park, to bring even more nature to their Wild Wednesdays programme.

Dark Skies & Creatures of the Night

After the success of this experience last year, we’re excited to be back with Northumberland National Park’s experts to explore the stunning Northumberland International Dark Sky Park above, and the wildlife that adapts to survive through winter below.

Walltown Wild Sounds Safari

An acoustic safari to rewild your senses, using a parabolic mic and wireless headphones to bring the gentle sounds of nature 10x closer to you. A shared experience to enjoy eavesdropping on the wild sounds of Walltown. Suitable for ages 12+.

Frogs & Flapjacks

A new base for this popular experience, coined by Nick Offerman no less! Come and discover the fascinating life that hides beneath the surface of ponds at Walltown, from the LOUDEST animal on Earth to ferocious (tiny!) predators that lurk… Suitable for all ages.

Nature Rangers

Young wild things (and their grown ups!) are invited on an exploration of the intriguing animals, plants and everything in between that call Walltown home. Includes secret, seasonal Wild Intrigue tips on ethically spying on wildlife 🤫 Nature Rangers receive certificate at the end!
