Wild Ouseburn Time Travelling Workshop

Imagine it’s 10 years from now, what does Wild Ouseburn mean for you in 2035?

With so much achieved together since Wild Ouseburn launched in January 2024, and with 3-years of funding secured through the Reece Foundation’s Ouse Burn Way, now is the perfect time for us to make Wild Ouseburn into a real force-of-nature in urban rewilding.

But what does this look like? We invite you to take part in this interactive workshop, to share YOUR thoughts on:

• How would you like to see Wild Ouseburn run in future years?
• Are there wildlife or habitats which you would like to learn more about?
• What local environmental challenges concern you, and how can Wild Ouseburn help to provide solutions?
• What are the immediate and long term projects we should focus on?
  … and lots more

You’ll have the chance to imagine and plan Ouseburn’s Wild Future in different creative ways, throughout and after the event.

This event will be a welcoming space for everyone to consider and share their perspectives of nature in the Lower Ouseburn Valley; whether you’re a local resident, a visitor to Ouseburn, a business or charity intrigued by local wildlife… Urban rewilding projects are most successful as catalysts for positive chance when they’re rooted in the communities who truly know and love the area. That means the more voices, skills and interests involved in this event, the better!

ON THE DAY

– We’ll support you in sharing your perspectives through a few ‘micro-workshops’.

– You’re welcome to get as involved as you like, and would encourage you to stay for the full session, however you’re more than welcome to take breaks outside or leave whenever you fancy.

– There’ll be a Wild Kids Corner, so you can come along with your little’uns, and we’ll have some crafty bits for them to share their wild thoughts while you share yours.

– There’ll be food and drinks!

The Time Travelling event will take place in Ouseburn Farm’s bright, warm event space.
