Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the worlds most inland seabird colony, as the sun sets over the iconic Newcastle-Gateshead skyline on Wild Intrigue’s new Sunset Kittiwake Safari.
After spending half of the year out at sea, the Tyne Kittiwakes return to nest on the buildings and bridges of Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside, their calls a wild backdrop to a lively hub of restaurants, galleries, hotels and pubs.
You will set off on a leisurely hour long circular walk from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, where the Kittiwakes are welcomed back to nest on the iconic building by BALTIC each year. From there you will be guided along the quayside, where Wild Intrigue will share the fascinating story of the Tyne Kittiwakes. With a picture-perfect, world-famous backdrop of the Tyne, as the sunsets, you will have the opportunity to observe these true Geordie birds up close.
The profits from Wild Intrigue’s 2022 Kittiwake events will go directly back to their conservation, helping to protect and celebrate our Geordie Kittiwakes for the future.
