Join us on World Rewilding Day as we welcome Paul Balmont, Programme Manager for the The Ouse Burn Way vision, to discuss the project’s landscape-scale approach to improving sustainability, access and collaboration along the Ouseburn catchment.
Part of the Ouseburn Wild Talks series, hosted in collaboration with Ouseburn Farm and the Ouseburn Trust, as part of the Wild Ouseburn project.
Paul Balmont, Programme Manager for The Ouse Burn Way project, will present the ambitious vision for the Ouseburn Valley: outlining plans to create a continuous green corridor, improve water quality through reduced surface runoff, enhance biodiversity by creating new wildflower meadows, and promote active travel and community engagement.
This talk is for local residents, environmental groups, and anyone interested in the future of the Ouse Burn Way. Paul will explain how the project aims to enhance, protect, and celebrate one of Newcastle’s most important natural and cultural assets.
He will also discuss how communities and organisations can get involved now, including volunteer opportunities and upcoming community consultations. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers after the presentation.
