Ouseburn is one of the most vibrant and vital parts of Newcastle for wildlife. We have wintering Kingfishers, hovering Kestrels, Roe Deer raising fawns in the woods, wildflowers linked to our industrial heritage, and Otters hunting on the tidal burn.
For the past year, the Wild Ouseburn project has documented and surveyed some of these lush urban wildlife moments. Join Mike Jeffries, and Cain + Heather from Wild Intrigue, for an evening talk at Ernest to discover Ouseburn’s wildlife. From Mike’s 19-years of butterfly surveys, to wonderfully weird pond creatures, nesting birds and elusive mammals.
Part of the week-long Wild Ouseburn Celebration programme of events. Explore the full programme and find out more about the Wild Ouseburn project here.
Hosted at Ernest, thanks to the support of the Ernest team.
Tickets are free to celebrate Wild Ouseburn’s first anniversary! If you feel able to, please purchase a drink or get your tea at Ernest to help support the venue.
Monday 10th March | 6pm – 8pm
The talk will begin at 7pm. We’d recommend arriving from 6pm if you’d like to get some food, or sit with a drink for a bit.
The talk will be hosted in Ernest’s event space. What3Words: ///whips.ozone.sorters
