Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the worlds most inland seabird colony, as the sun sets over the iconic Newcastle-Gateshead skyline on Wild Intrigue’s Sunset Kittiwake Safari.
After spending half of the year out at sea, the Tyne Kittiwakes return to nest on the buildings and bridges of Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside, their calls a wild backdrop to a lively hub of restaurants, galleries, hotels and pubs.
You will set off on a leisurely circular walk from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, where the Kittiwakes are welcomed back to nest on the iconic building each year. From there you will be guided along the quayside, where Wild Intrigue will share the fascinating story and intriguing lives of the Tyne Kittiwakes. With a picture perfect, world-famous backdrop of the River Tyne as the sun sets, you will have the opportunity to observe these true Geordie birds up close in beautiful light.
The profits from all of Wild Intrigue’s Kittiwake experiences go directly back to supporting the conservation of the colony, helping to protect and celebrate our Geordie Kittiwakes into the future.
