OUSEBURN DARK SKIES | Paper Moth Making workshop with Bethan Maddocks

March 24 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

Bring your own magical moth to life

Families are invited to join Ouseburn-based artist Bethan Maddocks for a magical morning creating your own magnificent moths – to celebrate this humble icon of our precious dark skies.

Under the artistic guidance of Bethan, you will create your own moth to take home with you using paper-cut and collage techniques.

This drop-in workshop is designed for children, with adult guardians, however adult are very welcome to come along and make a moth too!

Hosted at Ouseburn Farm between 10am and 12pm on Sunday 24th March. As a drop-in event, you are welcome to come along at any point, however please note that the latest entry will be 11.45am.

Please reserve a free ticket so we have an idea of numbers, and how many moths may be fluttering around…

Bethan Maddocks is the creator of the stunning exhibition, Noctalgia: Dark Skies Matter, which is available to visit in Ouseburn between Saturday 23rd – Monday 25th March. Find out more about visiting this exhibition here.

We are grateful to the support of Bethan and Northumberland National Park, who commissioned the enchanting Nostalgia installation, for supporting Ouseburn Dark Skies.

This event is part of Ouseburn Dark Skies, a long weekend celebrating our nocturnal wildlife and exploring ways to restore and protect our dark skies for wildlife and people. Discover the full Ouseburn Dark Skies weekend programme here.

Ouseburn Dark Skies is part of the Wild Ouseburn project, thanks to the support of the Malings Community Fund.
