Guided Wildlife Walk

Hidden within Kielder’s beautiful landscape, spectacular wildlife can be discovered. Join local wildlife experts, Wild Intrigue, to explore the wild side of Kielder on a guided wildlife walk at Bakethin Nature Reserve.

In summer, Kielder is home to an incredible array of woodland and freshwater birds, from Crossbill, Willow Warbler and Jay, to Dipper, Kingfisher and the magnificent Osprey. Below the leafy canopy, Water Vole, Roe Deer and Otter roam alongside a carpet of wildflowers which attract an impressive number of butterflies.

Come along for a relaxed afternoon immersed in Northumbrian nature and spectacular scenery.

Suitable for all ages, but most suited for adults and ages 12 and above. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Comfortable walking shoes and suitable clothing for the weather recommended.

Please note when booking: Tickets for this experience will be booked through the Kielder Waterside booking system. You will be directed to the “Nature & Wildlife” section, and from there you simply need to find your preferred date for the Guided Wildlife Walk.
